Short Tour Description
During the centuries Rome was characterized by great villas that surround the city center, the villa Borghese is one of the last example that still keep intact his original architectural shape, most of the art masterpieces and its gardens.
The Borghese Gallery, housed in the Villa Borghese Pinciana, was built in the beginning of the seventeenth century, and nowadays it is one of the most famous museums in Italy.
Begun in 1607 according to the architectural model of the traditional suburban villas, the Galleria Borghese includes twenty rooms across two floors with masterpieces ranging from Roman Antiquities, like The Gladiator mosaic floor, to the world famous Canova’s Paolina Borghese passing through the most complete collection of Bernini’s sculptures and the Caravaggio emphatic, realistic, intense chiaroscuro paintings.
During the tour you will admire the Borghese collection, paintings, sculptures and antiquities, begun by Cardinal Scipione Borghese, the nephew of Pope Paul V.
